Mayoral race contested, primary set for Feb. 21
DARLINGTON-Three candidates are vying for the position of mayor in the city of Darlington. A primary election in the city of Darlington will be held on Feb. 21 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Darlington Municipal Building. This will be the first election where voters will be required to present valid photo identification in order to vote.

DARLINGTON-The annual award ceremony for the Darlington Chamber/Main Street was held on Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Darlington Country Club.

"We have truly accomplished a lot of stuff this year and rain, sleet, hail or snow didn't stop us," Suzi Osterday, director of Darlington Chamber/Main Street, said.

DARLINGTON-The Darlington City Council voted 3-2 on Feb. 7 to amend the city's municipal code concerning fees for reserve "Class B" liquor licenses.

The city's municipal code required a $10,000 initial issuance fee for using a reserve "Class B" liquor license, the license that allows alcohol sales to be consumed on the premise.
